GLIMPSE: Intelligent Multi-drone Emergency Response System
  • Description: Conduct cutting-edge research in the field of autonomous multi-agent systems and artificial intelligence to revamp search-and-rescue operations with a fleet of autonomous flying robots.
  • Funded by: European Regional Development Fund and the Republic of Cyprus through the Research and Innovation Foundation’s RESTART 2016-2020 Programme for Research, Technological Development and Innovation - grant agreement EXCELLENCE/0421/0586 (GLIMPSE).
  • My role: Project inception, lead proposal writing and preparation, lead project implementation.

THISEAS: Intelligent UAV-based System for Tactical Situational Awareness and Decision Support
  • Description: “THISEAS” aims at developing a UAV-based electronic situational awareness and decision support system to improve the Cyprus National Guard’s operational capabilities.
  • Funded by: Ministry of Defence, Republic of Cyprus via the Call for Proposals “Athena 2019”
  • My role: Proposal writing and preparation, project implementation.

AIDERS: Real-time Artificial Intelligence for Decision support via RPAS data analytics
  • Description: AIDERS aims to: a) develop application-specific algorithms to analyze the vast volumes of data collected by first responders using piloted aircraft systems, and b) convert this data into actionable decisions to enhance emergency response.
  • Funded by: European Union Civil Protection Call for proposals UCPM-2019-PP-AG for prevention and preparedness projects in the field of civil protection and marine pollution under grant agreement 873240 (AIDERS)

SWIFTERS: Safe and Rapid Evacuation Facilitated by UAV Swarms
  • Description: The SWIFTERS project aims to leverage UAV swarms to streamline and enhance emergency response efforts. It will focus on the research, design, and development of UAV cooperation strategies to facilitate better coordination of activities that assist first responders, ultimately aiming to improve efficiency and reduce evacuation times.
